Sanur Village Festival Celebrates Balinese Culture from November 7-9

The Sanur Village Festival, a cornerstone event in Bali's cultural calendar, is set to return from November 7 to 9, 2025, at the picturesque Mertasari Beach. This year's festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of Balinese culture, culinary arts, and community spirit, welcoming both locals and tourists alike to partake in a rich array of activities entirely free of charge.

Ida Bagus Gede Sidharta Purta, Chairman of the Sanur Development Foundation (YPS), emphasized the significance of the festival, stating, "The goal of this event is for people to come and enjoy the Sanur Festival while also getting to know other destinations in the area." The festival, also referred to as SanFest, is expected to attract approximately 50,000 attendees over its three-day span.

This year's theme, "Guna Dusan," reflects the Sanur community's dedication to knowledge and cultural preservation. The festival will showcase this commitment through a variety of performances, culinary experiences, and sustainable lifestyle workshops designed to engage attendees and promote local traditions.

Among the festival highlights are the Ngleawar competition, fashion shows, live music performances, and cultural parades. Attendees can also participate in barista competitions and fun runs, with opportunities to win high-value prizes. The musical lineup features twelve local bands, offering a mix of rock, blues, and traditional Balinese melodies, ensuring a diverse auditory experience for festival-goers.

The Sanur Village Festival has grown in prominence since its inception eighteen years ago, evolving from a week-long celebration to this year's more concentrated format. The change aims to enhance the festival's impact while providing a more meaningful experience for participants. Putra expressed hope that the festival's values would foster prosperity for the Sanur community and Bali as a whole.

As the festival weekend approaches, Sanur continues to be a key destination for tourists, serving as a gateway to the Nusa Islands. The Sanur Port Authority has already begun preparations to manage expected increases in passenger traffic during the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays. Tourists planning excursions to Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan are advised to secure ferry and fast boat tickets well in advance to avoid disappointment.
