MotoGP Mandalika 2026: Camping Options Available from IDR 750,000
Travelers can now camp near the MotoGP Mandalika circuit, with prices starting at IDR 750,000 for a Camping-Campervan.
In a bid to enhance the experience for attendees of the upcoming MotoGP Mandalika 2026, the InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has announced the introduction of an official camping ground at The Mandalika, Lombok Tengah, Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB). This initiative allows visitors to enjoy the excitement of the Grand Prix of Indonesia scheduled for October 9-11, 2026, while staying close to the racing action.
The camping ground, set to open on October 8, 2026, is being developed in collaboration with PT Shekhara Sekawan Sejahtera, which will serve as the operator. This new accommodation option is designed not only to provide a place to stay but also to offer a unique experience that immerses visitors in the vibrant atmosphere surrounding the MotoGP.
Troy Warokka, the Chairman of Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 and Director of Operations at ITDC, emphasized that the camping ground is intended to enhance the overall experience for attendees. “The presence of the official camping ground is not merely an alternative accommodation but is aimed at providing a different experience for enjoying the MotoGP atmosphere and the surrounding area of The Mandalika,” Warokka stated.
He further elaborated on the importance of this initiative as part of the comprehensive preparations for MotoGP Mandalika 2026, which include enhancing accommodation capacity and improving connectivity to ensure visitor comfort. “We want people to come to The Mandalika not just to watch the race but to enjoy the destination and all the experiences that come with it,” he added.
Dian Nugroho, the President Director of PT Shekhara Sekawan Sejahtera, noted that the camping ground will cater to various accommodation preferences, from basic tents to glamping and campervans. “We aim to provide a comfortable and organized camping experience for the MotoGP. Therefore, we have prepared several accommodation options with different characteristics,” Nugroho explained.
The camping ground will offer various models of lodging, including tents, glamping facilities, and campervans, all supported by communal amenities to meet the needs of visitors. Pricing for the camping options starts at approximately IDR 750,000 per night, with the potential for costs to be shared among guests. For instance, a tent accommodating two to three people can bring the per-person cost down to around IDR 250,000.
For those seeking a more comfortable experience, glamping options are available, starting at IDR 2 million per night for two to four occupants. The larger glamping option, accommodating four to six guests, is priced at around IDR 2.5 million per night, allowing for a cost of less than IDR 500,000 per person when shared among six individuals.
The most premium option is the campervan, with prices ranging from IDR 10 million to IDR 15 million per night, depending on the type of campervan and the accompanying amenities. Each campervan can accommodate up to four people, and additional tent facilities will be provided to expand capacity as needed.
This initiative aims to attract riders and motorcycle enthusiasts from across Indonesia, including regions such as Aceh, Sumatra, Java, Bali, and Makassar. “We hope this can be an alternative solution for riders and bikers coming from various regions to join us here,” Nugroho remarked.
With the introduction of the camping ground, ITDC is positioning MotoGP Mandalika 2026 as not just a sporting event but a comprehensive travel experience that highlights the beauty and culture of Lombok while catering to the diverse needs of its visitors.
