Bali Welcomes 6.95 Million Foreign Tourists in 2025, a Record Growth

In 2025, Bali recorded an impressive 6,948,754 foreign tourist arrivals, a remarkable 9.72 percent increase compared to the 6.34 million visitors in 2024. This surge highlights the island's resurgence as a premier travel destination in Southeast Asia, buoyed by improved air and sea connectivity.

The announcement was made by I Made Agus Adnyana, a senior statistician at Statistics Indonesia's Bali office, during a press conference held in Denpasar on February 2, 2026. The data reflects a broader recovery trend in international travel, despite ongoing global economic uncertainties that have affected many regions.

Notably, arrivals via sea routes saw a significant rise, with 41,169 visitors arriving by cruise ships, which represents a staggering 65.88 percent increase from just 24,819 visits in 2024. This growth in maritime tourism can be attributed to the successful docking of two large cruise vessels in December alone, as well as the introduction of new and expanded flight routes that have made Bali more accessible.

Although arrivals from the ASEAN region dipped slightly, decreasing by 0.09 percent, other regions experienced substantial growth. Visitors from Asia, Europe, Oceania, the United States, the Middle East, and Africa all reported increases, showcasing Bali's appeal across a diverse array of international markets.

Australia continues to dominate as Bali's largest source of foreign tourists, contributing approximately 1.63 million arrivals in 2025. Following Australia, India and China also played significant roles, with around 569,260 and 537,380 visitors respectively. This highlights the shifting dynamics in Bali's tourism landscape, as it increasingly draws from a wider range of countries.

The rise in tourism inflow is not just a number; it signifies a broader economic revival for Bali, which has been heavily reliant on foreign visitors for its economic sustenance.
